I do like modern art too but nothing quite beats the detail and colour in these paintings by two of my favourite artists, Thomas Gainsborough and John Constable. I wish people still painted like this...

Advertising?

Found in Creative Review. I read that the artist was trying to say something against advertising, consumerism etc. I personally love adverts especially print ads, I consider them art. The old ones like Pears Soap, Guinness, Coca-Cola...

Trying a bit of painting, I think I should probably stick to sewing. Acrylic paint on canvas, image taken from a photograph of an Indonesian tribes man. Indonesia is a wonderful place with wonderful people. I miss it.

Puerto La Cruz, Venezeula back when photos were a bit grainier and my photography skills were not so good (and I appear to have only 1 photo of a bus!) This was taken in 2006 during the time when Manuel Rosales was running against Chavez in the presidential election. He has subsequently had to leave Venezuela (charged with corruption). It was a strange time to be in Venezuela as many things were changing.
