Oprisco Photography

I love it when people send work that they like, it introduces you to things that you wouldn't necessarily come across otherwise. My sister is great at finding work that I love, she is in the midsts of wedding plans which is probably taking her to the far reaches of the internet as she researches locations and flower arrangements! These photos from Oprisco are so dreamy...I know a photography catches a moment in time...but these really feel as though time was never moving in the first place...they are so still...

The website

I have doing art (do you say 'doing art'?) quietly in the background for a while, mainly as a creative output. It sounds cheesy but making things and watching as they develop gives me great satisfaction. I have done a few commissions of late and always wanted to try and take it one stage further so I have been working on my own website to start showing some of my work (and hopefully selling it)...Im developing it on Wix and it isn't live yet. But here is a little preview of what it is going to look like....
Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Keep Calm and Carry On

When I used to live in the North East we used to regularly visit Barter Books. It is the best place to escape your thoughts and just get lost in the rows of books. The whole time I never knew they were hiding such a great secret....

What a wonderful story.

Noma Bar - cutting the conflict

Noma Bar's latest exhibition looks at cutting the conflict between warring nations. It combines material from two countries at war in a single, unified image. Materials have been cut into shapes symbolising war and peace, such as a dove, a gun and a crouching sniper to represent the US and Syria, Ethiopia and Eritrea, Israel and Palestine and Greece and Turkey.
Check out London’s Rook & Raven gallery for the full display of work.

Artists and illustrators Kyra Clegg, Oliver Flude, Kristine Steele, Stephen Livingstone, Freya Pocklington and Clare Whistler have taken discarded books from the old Birmingham central library and given them a new life. Transforming them into works of art, they are now on display at the new Library of Birmingham.

Ted

Love the concept behind Mark Nixon's new book Much Loved where the subject is Teddy bears, owners and their stories. Everyone had a teddy at some stage in their life (or still do) and they often have a heartfelt story behind them.
I gave my best friend one when she was 10(ish) which she affectionately called 'Charlie', she still has it to this day and it warms my heart....
